Trying to make friends in Hanoi…

Tala’s biggest fear in Hanoi is not the traffic, the pollution, or the dog meat market – it’s Miniature Pinchers and Chihuahuas that pop out of alleyways and doors around the city. She really does not know what to make of them.

Their diminutive size, their dress sense…

Yes, most do wear flouncy skirt dresses in winter. At first Tala thought it was cute…

But on closer inspection… she realized the ‘she’ was a ‘he’….

Unimpressed, she continued on her walk, despite lunging advances of lust.

While Cesar Millan advocates all dogs having a role or purpose and that exercise should come before affection,  I still didn’t know what to think of this little chap trotting down the street in Hanoi….

Luckily, there are some more normal dogs out there.

Puppies of course are not to be trusted….

No matter how cute…

But Tala’s current love is a local breed who lives behind bars guarding the Olympic committee building…. They snatch nose nuzzles whenever she passes him on her walk.
