Hi Jura,
Thank you for those great photos of Hanoi. As a Vietnamese, I’m so proud to see it. Frankly, I’m a Saigonese and have just been to Hanoi for 2 times and I fell in love with it, especially with its colonial architecture. It helps bring back fond memories during my studies time in Paris. I’m looking for a book or any websites that has more photos and stories about this hidden beauty of Hanoi and your blog is on top of my collection.
Thanks again

Thank you so much for your kind message. I’m really glad you enjoyed my photos of Hanoi. I have now left Vietnam but I loved my time there. I’m moving to Ecuador next and look forward to exploring quito. There is a great book called ‘Hanoi the biography of a city’ which is well worth a read if you are interested in the history and architecture. I wish I could have spent more time in Saigon! Best wishes, jura
Nice collection of colonial architecture. I recognize some of the buildings from a trip there two years ago.
Thank you – whenever it is sunnny I try to get my camera out as I love the old buildings in Hanoi – so much character.
