Turtle watching at Hoan Kiem Lake

Although I still have one or two more Mongolia posts, I feel I have been back in Hanoi too long now and both the hound and Hanoi have been neglected. Today is grey, drizzly, and miserable so I thought I would put a few photos up from a walk last weekend which was decidedly more sunny. Hoan Kiem lake is always great for people watching and as usual there were a lot of people staring at the lake – whether they were looking at fish or for the mysterious turtle (previous post about it here) wasn’t entirely clear.

The hound, however, soon gave a bored yawn and wanted to move on. Some research says yawns are a sign of anxiety or more recently that dogs like to copy us – check out a funny post by Will and Eko here, but in this case I think she really was just bored with not seeing anything in the murky waters.

So we moved on to another spot around the lake – though she still kept looking.
