Hanoi’s First Dog Show

Tala surveys the off-leash crowd
Hanoi hosted its first ever dog show last weekend. The show was still in a very nascent phase and perhaps would be best described as a dog fair/get together, although it is still a step in the right direction in terms of people hopefully becoming more knowledgeable about how to care, train and socialize dogs. Having said that there were still some worrying issues for example why people are bringing potentially aggressive dogs to a dog fair with lots of other dogs and young children. A number of men had break sticks in their back pockets – I wasn’t sure whether to find this reassuring or concerning – probably the latter.

A very pretty border collie – the first I’ve seen in Hanoi
Alaskan Malamute love
Tala happier with the children
A Dachshund
A happy man and his blue tongued Chow Chow
A Dalmation puppy
A Pit Bull relegated to the tied up ‘big and scary’ dogs corner.
A handsome Phu Quoc Dog
A poor Dalmation who has clearly been having far too many puppies
A happy little Pomeranian
A Pomeranian mix and a very friendly Dogo Argentino puppy
A slightly out of control muzzled dog heading over to the ‘big and scary’ area. Slightly worrying with all the little kids about…
Not sure what he is – but he was huge and the Vietnamese were queuing to take their photos with him
Tala and a Dalamation puppy
A pug in a baby carrier…

The pug in the baby carrier is absolutely hilarious. The dog looks embarassed!
Needed a big smile this morning and your photos served it right up! Great shots – I loved the Dalmatian pup and (of course) the pug in the baby bjorn.
How exciting! And what great photos! Thanks for sharing this event.
